  9. Good afternoon class - Well I am impressed!! Look at us fifty four year olds blogging! Who woulda 'thunk!!!! I'm glad to see that it is working and it will hopefully cut down on all the emails. Although just my going back to work next week will cut down on them!! I might have to retire so I can do this full time!!!

  12. Dianne, as we are getting all tech savvy, you should use evite to track evryone and who is coming. Have you tried it?

    ReplyDelete

  17. Hey guys, I think I'm getting the hang of this but for those who know what they're doing with this blog, could you answer the following questions: How do I get rid of one of my two sign up photos?---also, is this how we will now communicate with each other by posting comments in this blog?----also, what if we wanted to communicate with only one person in the blog, how do we do that?----also, what does it mean to "friend" someone in this blog?-----also, how can we find out who the members are in this blog?---also, how do I list a bio to give an update about my family etc?---lastly, when I wrote my previous comment it was 5AM but the post said it was 2AM---how do I fix that?------Thanks!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Geez, John you have a lot of questions!! This is not the courtroom you know!! You're making me nervous-only kidding!! I will try to answer all your questions. My daughter is home this weekend so we will try to figure this all out.

Davey we missed your "evening report"!!

  19. Meanwhile, I will give my brief bio here. I was born in SI Hosp on April 28, 1956. I was a whopping 9.6 lbs (what's that? You want me to move on?---okay then). I married Rhonda Cohen whom I met in college and we have two wonderful kids, Anne and AJ. Rhonda is an elementary school teacher working in Short Hills NJ where we haved lived since 1991. Anne (named after my dearly departed sister who passed away in 1984) is 22 years old and just graduated from Williams College with a double major in physics and geo science. She has a Fellowship to continue her studies at Princeton where she will work on getting her PhD in geo science (don't ask). My son AJ (Andrew Jeremiah) just started his first year at Middlebury College in Vt and hopes to play both football and baseball, two sports which he loved and excelled at in high school. I have two choc labs (Nellie who is 14 and Tessie who is 3). My Mom is still hanging in there at 86 years old and still lives on Buel Ave. My Dad just recently passed away, may he rest in peace. I am an Attorney. I had practiced with our own John Connors and his Dad up to 1993 when I began a practice with Michael McMahon (some of you may remember Mike's bro Joseph who was my best friend through high school and passed away in 1980 from a bout with leukemia). John C and I have remained dear friends for some time now and see each other often. Mike McMahon had to resign from my firm last year after he was elected to the US House of Representatives as SI's current Congressman. Some of my fondest memories are of my St Anns days and growing up in the Berry Homes. My biggest blessings have been meeting my wife and having our two children. No regrets really and I am looking forward to meeting up with my St Anns brothers and sisters on Nov 20th!!!!

  20. Had a problem uploading my picture, but figured out it had to be resized, too big for this site. Anyway, if you Google resize picture, sites pop up and you can resize and upload. Took a couple of tries and much wine but DONE.

  21. Hey John,
Good morning. There is an area up in the dashboard section of this site that allows you to send private messages. I tried it last night by messaging myself and it works great. So, give it a shot, poke around.

    ReplyDelete
  22. OK Rosemary,
I can't find the section that does private messages...can you give me more specific directions please?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sorry Tara, decided to clean the grill, so I just saw your message. I found it last night somewhere the place where you send private messages, don't remember right now, but I do remember that all private messages get routed through gmail.
I'll play around with it again later.

  33. Good morning all - well it's the end of my 11 weeks of summer vacation. It's back to work today. No kids today, we get to ease back into but they will be there bright and early tomorrow!

So "blogging" seems to help ease up on the amount of emails going back and forth. Of course with me going back to work there will definitely be a slow down in emails!!

Don't forget to look through your old photos and email them as attachments to me to add to the blog. Also current ones so we will know who you are at the reunion!!! Love seeing them!

    Have a great day everyone!!

  34. Hey guys, I'll give the golf thing some thought. I joined a great club in 1994 and played often for years. I really had the bug (although I still suck!!!!) but haven't played much the last few years. Didn't pick up a club at all this summer. Still, its all about the camaraderie and fun!!! Anyone bringing cigars??

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh God, no cigars!!! They stink!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hi every one! Wanted to let you know I received the first check in the mail today for the reunion from Carol Mangiero!!! How exciting!! This is going to be a great reunion!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey Guys and Gals.... Well no one has posted a comment in this blog for sometime. Our reunion has come and gone and we are left a bit melancholy but with such great memories of getting together with our old family. The reunion weekend could not have been better. As much as we have fun busting each other with the old time banter, I must say that I never realized how much I missed you all and how much I love each and every one of you. You truly are family to me and I feel confident in saying we all walked away feeling the same way. Thanks Joe and Ronnie for keeping our school spirit alive over the years and thank you Dianne for being the force behind this reunion. I hope we can get plans made for a follow up reunion soon. I love Kathleen's idea of the dude ranch upstate for a weekend next year. Love you all and miss you all again so much already. Be well and have a very happy and healthy holiday season and New Year. John O

  38. Hi Everyone,
Just thought I too would give a try of updating my feelings and thoughts on the blog. So here goes.
I have had a real rough patch the last couple of years with my mom's illness and taking care of her and being I'm the only one left in my original family (everyone passed on except me and my mom)
In any event, I have that handled damn well I would say, can't believe the distance I have traveled which led me to many surreal places in dealing with Alzheimers. Very, Very Bad Thing that is. Took me three years to work my way through it but I have it under control and am happy and proud of myself that I am able to provide her with homecare 24/7 in a nice apartment with wonderful caregivers. So happy I managed to get that one on one for her. She pretty much doesn't remember me but it's okay, you learn to be creative and roll with the punches. So Rose is holding steady and I'm good. A lot of running here and there but it's okay.
Now that conversation brings me to you guys. I would love to tell you all that our class being reunited and finding out that we actually really really do share of bond that we never realized when it was happening happened.
When I saw all you guys, it just was so warm and loving and gave me such joy, fun and much laughter. Laughter is the greatest thing. Of course, love is the greatest thing as well and that really is what we feel for each other and continue to tease and talk all day.
So, my blog post today will be to thank you all for the special feeling of being reconnected to all of you, which absolutely filled my heart in the empty places I have come to have as a result of losing all my immediate original family members.
That's how close I feel to all of you.
I love you all and feel blessed that I was a member of our class.
I know that was sappy but I had to say it.
